I drove home yesterday evening coming down the Haleakala Highway. It affords one a view of the West Maui mountains in front, the south shore to the left and the north shore to the right. On a clear day the island of Molokai is also visible to the north west.

Yesterday evening the view was anything but clear. Vog, volcanic fog, was thick and obscured a lot of views apart from outlines. All part of the ongoing eruption of Kīlauea on the Big Island of Hawaii. I was appreciative for the air conditioning in my truck cleaning the air.

The Vog, though, did make for a colourful sunset last night.
